Praxis Exams Tests at a Glance Official Study Guide 3 Keys to Success General Tips Top Reasons for Low Scores For PETE Professors

The Praxis Exams

I assume that you have a basic understanding of what the Praxis Exams are and your interest in them is what has brought you to this page.  If you do not know what the Praxis Exams are, I suggest that you visit The Praxis Series Online before you go much farther into this site.  The Praxis Series Online site has a lot of information about the exams, how to register and even which tests you need to take and what scores you need to pass.  ETS publishes an official study guide for the health and physical education exams! The study guide is not available for download, but must be ordered from ETS. The study guide is $40 and can be ordered from the ETS Online Store. If you have to take any of the Praxis Exams The Praxis Series Online and the official study guide are great places to start.

The three categories of assessments in The Praxis Series correspond to the three milestones in teacher development:

  1. Entering a teacher training program
    bulletPraxis I: Academic Skills Assessments

  2. Licensure for entering the profession
    bulletPraxis II: Subject Assessments
bulletSubject Assessments measure candidates' knowledge of the subjects they will teach, as well as general and subject -specific pedagogical skills and knowledge.

  3. The first year of teaching
    bulletPraxis III: Classroom Performance Assessments

This site is dedicated to the Praxis II: Subject Area Assessments for Physical Education.  Specifically,

bullet0091 Physical Education Content Knowledge

bullet0092 Physical Education: Movement Forms-Analysis and Design

bullet0093 Physical Education: Movement Forms-Video Evaluation (contains video section)
bulletUnfortunately I have very little information about this exam.
